4 Things to Love About the 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid At Your Honda Dealer

1. Its Delightful Fuel Economy

The hybrid version of this car pairs an electric motor with a powerful 204-horsepower engine. This powertrain has a fantastic fuel economy of 29 mpg in the city, which is better than what many non-hybrid competitors can achieve even on the highway. Then, once you get on the highway in this hybrid, you can expect to achieve 48 miles per gallon.

2. Its Customizable Performance

There are modes that you can select while driving the hybrid model of the Accord. Sport mode gives you a powerful ride, and ECON maximizes fuel efficiency. There’s also a mode that lets you customize a variety of settings to your liking, including steering and gauges. As well as that, there are deceleration selectors mounted on the drive wheel, allowing you to set the level of regenerative braking that you prefer.

3. Its Fantastic Connectivity

This year’s Accord has a 12.3-inch center touchscreen, and this extra wide infotainment system makes it really easy to see features that are best viewed on a larger screen. For example, having a big screen when using the navigation function and looking at maps is always a plus.

The infotainment system can come with both Google and Alexa built-in, allowing you to stay connected in many ways. With Google, you can get directions, look up information about your destination, and satisfy any curiosities that come to mind while driving. With Alexa, you can stream music, do a little shopping on Amazon, and control smart home devices to have your house ready for you before you get home.

4. Its Driver Assistance Technology

Your Honda has a Sensing Suite that allows it to monitor the road for hazards. Because these sensors can detect objects in your path, your car can then send you an alert if a collision is likely. It can also assist you with steering and braking in different situations. For example, if you don’t have time to respond to an alert about a potential collision, then the car can hit the brakes. If you’re drifting too close to the next lane, then your Accord can correct your steering.

The more sophisticated modern cars become, the more they make use of electrical power. This means the condition of your car’s battery is more important than ever before. If you notice the following indications of a worn-out battery, head to your nearest Honda dealer without delay. A trusted technician can inspect and test your battery and promptly replace it with a new car battery if required.

Does Your Honda Need a New Car Battery?

Battery Warning Light on Your Dashboard

The battery-shaped light appearing on your dashboard might well be the first indication you receive of a battery problem. This warning light may point to a damaged or worn-out battery, or it might be triggered by some other problem with your vehicle’s electrical system. A technician can quickly diagnose and repair the underlying issue for you.

Difficulty Starting Your Engine

When a battery grows old and fails to properly recharge or effectively deliver electrical voltage, you’ll probably have trouble starting the engine in the morning. Both the starter and spark plugs need a strong surge of voltage to get the engine going. If your car is clearly struggling to get going, it’s wise to have your battery checked before the engine refuses to start at all.

Your Electrical Accessories Malfunction

Many electronics in your car will start to suffer when a battery loses power. You may notice problems with your headlights, dashboard dials, radio, power windows, heated seats, air conditioner, and all kinds of other accessories.

Bad Smells in Your Cabin

Sometimes a damaged car battery can start to leak battery acid. This is a serious problem that spells the end for the battery. You might detect a pungent sulfur smell inside the cabin if your battery ever leaks.

Your Battery Looks Misshapen

You can visually examine your battery at any time for signs of damage. If your battery ever looks swollen or misshapen in any way, have it replaced right away before it cracks open and starts to leak.

Corrosion on Your Battery’s Terminals

The metal terminals at the top of a car battery should be kept clean at all times. If you notice a serious buildup of corrosion on the terminals, the entire battery might have to go.

Your Honda Dealer Finds a Battery Fault

As a vehicle owner, one important routine servicing task is to have your car’s electrical system inspected. It’s usually recommended to have a vehicle’s electrical system serviced twice a year. While checking the electronics, an experienced technician will soon identify and alert you to any battery-related trouble.

Have your car’s battery tested and repaired or replaced today at Honda of New Rochelle. At our full-service dealership, we offer a pleasant, hassle-free vehicle purchasing or servicing experience, whatever your car-related needs might be.

The radiator in your Honda has the essential job of removing heat from your engine. Engine heat is carried to the radiator by liquid coolant, and the radiator acts as a heat exchange device to allow this heat to be quickly dissipated. In time, your radiator could become damaged, and you’ll need to visit your friendly Honda dealer for a radiator repair. These are some of the signs your radiator could be damaged.

Signs You Need a Radiator Repair at Your Honda Dealer

Coolant Leak

One of the most obvious signs of a radiator problem is a pool of brightly colored liquid underneath your car. Coolant is available in a variety of colors, so you might see pink, blue, orange, or green liquid dripping onto the ground. A coolant leak is very serious, as coolant has the vital task of removing heat from your engine and transporting it to the radiator.

The cooling system operates at high speed and under high pressure, and these conditions can take their toll over time. Seals can crack, radiator hoses can develop leaks, or your radiator could start to rust. As your Honda loses coolant, the cooling system will slow down as the pressure inside the system decreases. As a result of the slowed cooling system, your engine will start to overheat. We’ll identify the site of the leak and seal it.

Sludge in the Radiator

Coolant brings the engine heat it absorbs to the radiator and this heat is removed by airflow over the radiator tubes. The coolant also absorbs other items like rust particles, dirt, and other debris as it moves through the engine. The absorbed debris is left behind when the now-cooled coolant leaves the radiator.

As time passes, the accumulated debris can blow the radiator. If coolant can’t flow easily and efficiently through the radiator for cooling, your engine temperature will steadily increase. A blocked radiator can cause your engine to overheat very rapidly. Our technicians can fix this problem by removing the radiator and flushing it to clear any blockages.

Loose Hose Clamps

Two reinforced rubber hoses connect the radiator to the cooling system. Hot coolant flows into the radiator from the hose at the top, and cooled coolant flows out through the hose at the bottom of the radiator. These hoses are securely attached to the radiator and kept in place by metal radiator clamps. These clamps ensure that the hose connections are airtight.

The clamps can loosen over time due to the constant movement of coolant through the hoses. A loose clamp can allow pressurized coolant to escape the hose and spray into the engine compartment. Our technicians can tighten the clamps or replace them if they’re damaged.

A radiator problem can cause your engine to overheat very quickly. If you have a radiator problem, call us right away at Honda of New Rochelle.

If you’ve been driving for many years, you may remember the days when we needed to have our motor oil refreshed every 3,000 miles. Fortunately, modern synthetic oil lasts much longer and these days, every 5,000 to 7,500 miles is a more typical interval. However, this will vary from car to car and from driver to driver, so let’s look in more detail at how often you should be visiting your local Honda dealer for an oil change

How Long Has It Been Since Your Honda’s Last Oil Change?

Check Your Owner’s Manual

The owner’s manual for your vehicle will probably include a recommended schedule for refreshing your oil. It may also have two suggested maintenance schedules: one for regular driving and one for driving in more severe conditions. When it comes to something as important as motor oil, it’s generally wise to follow the advice of the engineers who designed your vehicle.

Adhere to Your Powertrain Warranty

If your vehicle’s powertrain is currently protected by a warranty, you can keep that warranty valid by following the intervals stipulated in the small print. Change your oil as frequently as is required to keep your warranty valid.

Consider Your Driving Conditions

Drivers who put their cars’ engines under greater strain with challenging driving conditions will need to have their oil refreshed more often than other drivers. Severe driving conditions include carrying or towing heavy loads, driving long distances at low speeds, and using roads that are particularly muddy, dusty, sandy, or salty.

Frequent short drives of under five miles also take their toll on engines and motor oil because short drives don’t give the oil enough time to properly warm up and lubricate. During winter, when motor oil takes even longer to warm up, a habit of making short drivers of under ten miles should be considered a more severe driving condition.

Pay Attention to Your Car’s Oil Life Monitor

Your vehicle may have an oil life monitoring system, which can automatically judge the severity of your driving conditions, estimate how rapidly your oil is wearing down, and suggest intervals for changing your oil based on this data. While these automatic systems can be very useful and accurate, it’s a good idea to regularly manually check your oil level as well, just to be sure.

Ask a Trusted Technician at Your Local Honda Dealer

An experienced technician at your local dealership can check both your engine and oil and offer expert advice on how frequently to have your oil refreshed. They’ll also make sure you’re using just the correct type and brand of synthetic oil for your vehicle, which will help both your oil and engine last even longer.

Have your oil inspected and changed today at Honda of New Rochelle. We offer the largest inventory of new Honda vehicles in Westchester along with attentive, personalized customer service, whatever your car-related needs might be.
