From Your Honda Dealer: What’s Included in a Standard Car Warranty?
New Car Limited Warranty
This warranty applies to your whole vehicle and protects you against any manufacturing-related problem for the first three years/36,000 miles, whichever comes first. In the unlikely event that a component or system covered by the warranty needs to be repaired, replaced, or adjusted, the required work will be performed by a dealer for free.
In addition, all warranty repairs or replacements are performed by Honda-trained technicians and use only OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts.
Powertrain Limited Warranty
The powertrain comprises the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. These vital systems combine to move your car. The engine produces energy, which is transferred to the transmission. A series of gears in the transmission focus this energy, which is then supplied to the drivetrain to enable your car to move at the desired speed. Components in these systems are protected for five years/60,000 miles.
Federal Emissions Warranty
Emissions are the dangerous and toxic chemicals produced as a byproduct of the combustion process. Your Honda has specialized systems, which include the catalytic converter, that change dangerous chemicals into harmless ones before they’re expelled via the exhaust. This warranty protects the emissions systems from any possible issue unrelated to general wear and tear or accidental damage. Protection duration depends on your Honda model.
Rust Perforation Limited Warranty
Rust is highly damaging to any metal, but your Honda has built-in protection to prevent this damage. If your car suffers perforation, which is rust that eats through the metal from one side to the other, the damage will be repaired. Perforation protection applies for five years/unlimited mileage.
Seat Belt Limited Warranty
Seat belts save lives, and they’ve been a legal requirement in every vehicle in the US since 1968. This warranty protects the belts and their mechanisms for fifteen years/150,000 miles.
Accessory Limited Warranty
Genuine Honda accessories that are installed by a dealer at the time of purchase are automatically covered by a three-year/36,000-mile warranty. As a dealer, we only use genuine accessories.
Replacement 12V Battery Warranty
Honda includes coverage for your car battery, a component that other vehicle manufacturers don’t include in their warranties. In the event of battery failure under normal conditions, your battery will automatically be replaced. This warranty applies for 100 months, that is eight years and four months.
