All-New 2023 Honda CR-V Wins Coveted Car and Driver 10Best Award

January 17, 2023

  • Honda is the winningest brand in Car and Driver 10Best history
  • Completely redesigned 2023 Honda CR-V sets a new compact SUV benchmark with rugged styling, increased space and available sporty hybrid-electric performance
  • CR-V has won a Car and Driver 10Best award four times

TORRANCE, Calif. — The editors of Car and Driver have awarded the Honda CR-V a coveted 10Best Award, honoring the all-new 2023 CR-V for its rugged styling, increased interior space and available sporty hybrid-electric performance. This is the fourth time CR-V has won a 10Best Award.

"The CR-V is a well-rounded package that punches way above its weight on multiple levels," said the editors at Car and Driver. "That impression starts as soon as you close the door and start rolling, as the structure of the new CR-V immediately feels tight, hushed, and substantial. The body shell is more rigid, and there's more sound insulation in the cowl, firewall, and instrument panel areas. Once you're underway, the new CR-V delivers the kind of smoothness you expect from a more expensive vehicle. The steering is willing and pairs to a chassis that cuts a steady arc through turns. The interior feels rich, too, with an attractive styling theme shared with the Honda Civic, a 10Best Cars winner. The Sport models feature a hybrid system that delivers up to 40 mpg combined; they're our most recommended versions of this much-recommended vehicle."

"The Honda CR-V is America's best-selling CUV of the past quarter century, and the all-new 2023 Honda CR-V raises the bar with a rugged and sophisticated design and a sportier and more capable driving experience," said Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president Honda National Sales for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "For the editors of Car and Driver to honor CR-V, Accord and Civic with prestigious 10Best awards in the same year is an incredible honor for the entire Honda family."

In a show of design and engineering excellence, Honda has earned three Car and Driver 10Best awards this year. The magazine's editors also honored the all-new 2023 Accord and the Civic lineup that includes the all-new 2023 Civic Type R, the most powerful car Honda has ever sold in the United States.

With 69 total awards, Honda is the winningest brand in Car and Driver 10Best history. At least one Honda has earned a spot on the annual list in every year since the award's inception in 1983. Accord is also far and away the most awarded vehicle in Car and Driver 10Best history, making the prestigious list an incredible 37 times, including the last 25 years consecutively.

Perfect for daily life or weekend escapes, the new CR-V is available in four trim levels, including the new hybrid-powered and boldly styled CR-V Sport and Sport Touring as the new top of the CR-V model line.

CR-V Sport and Sport Touring feature an advanced fourth-generation two-motor hybrid-electric system that's more powerful for a sporty and exhilarating driving experience, while also achieving high fuel efficiency. With 247 lb.-ft of torque they are the most powerful CR-Vs ever.

Double Down: Honda Accord and Civic Win Car and Driver 2023 10Best Cars Awards

December 19, 2022

  • Honda is the winningest brand in Car and Driver 10Best history
  • Sleek, powerful and electrified, all-new 2023 Accord honored for a record 37th time, including a streak of 25 consecutive years
  • 11th-generation Civic repeats as 10Best for simple and sporty design, class-leading safety performance and fun-to-drive personality – and arrival of the all-new Type R

TORRANCE, Calif. — In a show of design and engineering excellence, Honda has earned two coveted Car and Driver's 10Best Cars awards. The magazine's editors honored the all-new 2023 Accord and the Civic lineup that includes the all-new 2023 Civic Type R, the most powerful car Honda has ever sold in the United States.

"You can feel the award-winning richness of the Accord before you even leave the parking lot," said the editors at Car and Driver. "It's smooth, quiet, refined to the nth degree, and good-looking. With a spacious back seat and a cavernous trunk, it serves well as comfortable transportation for five adults."

"The reason the entire Civic lineup wins 10Best is because even the most sensible models — the base Sport sedan and hatchback — are a joy to drive, with balanced chassis, refined road manners, and accurate steering," said the Car and Driver editors. "Both the Type R and the Si are offered only with a six-speed manual. These are "if you know, you know" cars. But the best thing about the Civic is that its affordability across a wide range of models means more drivers can join in on the fun."

With 68 total awards, Honda is the winningest brand in Car and Driver 10Best history. At least one Honda has earned a spot on the annual list since the award's inception in 1983. Accord is also the most awarded vehicle in Car and Driver 10Best history by a wide margin. It has made the prestigious list an incredible 37 times, including the last 25 years consecutively. "It is great to have a Honda product selected as one of America's 10 Best cars, but to have the editors of Car and Driver select two different vehicles, Accord and Civic, is an incredible honor for the entire Honda family," said Lance Woelfer, assistant vice president Honda National Sales for American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

America's best-selling car over the last five decades, the all-new 2023 Honda Accord reinvigorates the midsize sedan segment with sophisticated design and an advanced fourth-generation two-motor hybrid-electric system that's more powerful for a sporty and exhilarating driving experience, while also achieving high fuel efficiency. Inside, a new sporty and modern interior offers fine craftsmanship, high-quality materials and must-have tech features including Honda's largest touchscreen ever and Honda 's first integration of Google built-in for seamless on-the-go connectivity.

A major gateway to the Honda brand, Civic continues to lead the industry with key customer groups, including Gen Z buyers, Millennials, first-time buyers and multicultural buyers. Winner of the 2022 North American Car of the Year award, the Civic Sedan, sporty Civic Hatchback and performance Civic Si Sedan deliver fun-to-drive dynamics, stylish design and an award-winning interior with cutting-edge standard technology. For 2023, the all-new, high-performance Civic Type R joins the lineup as the ultimate hot hatch with a racetrack-tuned suspension and 315 hp (SAE net @ 6,500 rpm).
