It's true. Honda has been lagging a bit behind as far as its infotainment system stacks up compared to its competitors. While has updated its UVO infotainment system and Ford has updated its Sync system recently towards big improvements, the same isn't true for our favorite auto brand. The brand's system currently seems a bit outdated, but that will soon change when the Japanese company debuts its HondaLink system later this month.
The details aren't completely nailed down at the moment, and it hasn't yet been announced if the new system will utilize a built-in modem or smartphone technology, but Wired magazine does report that it will no longer employ satellite data to access connected services. Earlier in 2012, at the Consumer Electronics Show, Honda announced its partnership with Aha Radio, which allows users to stream thousands of audio feeds. The 2013 Honda Accord will be the first Honda vehicle available with this application, as well as (possibly) the Apple's Siri Eyes Free function.
The revised HondaLink system will officially appear in the Honda Fit EV, but this vehicle will only be in certain markets, so many drivers won't get to experience the system until it's available in the 2013 Honda Accord.
